The RuNz
The RuNz is a third-person runner that blends absurd humor with genuine challenge. Players take on the role of a character desperately trying to reach a bathroom before time runs out—complete with progressively ridiculous fart sounds to signal their impending doom. The game is structured across two themed chapters and features seven levels that increase in difficulty, keeping players on edge with a constant race against the clock.
This playful concept turns bodily urgency into a full-fledged gameplay mechanic, using humor to heighten the tension in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment.

My Role
As the head developer and project coordinator, I oversee every stage of the development process. This includes managing asset integration, coordinating tools to work seamlessly together, leading gameplay direction, and ensuring that the project meets both performance and creative goals. I also take ownership of technical optimization for mobile, collaborating across tools and systems to deliver a cohesive final product.
Gameplay Mechanics
Each level is designed to progressively raise the stakes, with environmental obstacles and time pressure forcing players to make quick decisions. As the timer winds down, the game introduces increasingly loud and exaggerated sound effects that signal the character’s, well… critical situation. This intentional escalation keeps players engaged while maintaining a lighthearted, comedic tone.
Despite its humor, The RuNz is a well-balanced runner that rewards precision and timing, blending chaotic fun with mechanical challenge.

Development
The RuNz is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, taking advantage of its lighting capabilities and powerful rendering tools to create polished, immersive environments. I use Ableton Live to design custom sound effects and music, which add to the game’s quirky personality. Character animations are built using Mixamo, while 3D assets are sourced from Sketchfab, allowing for high-quality visuals and expressive character movement. The game is being optimized for iOS devices, bringing a smooth mobile experience without compromising the game’s visual or technical quality.
